Edward has been a popular guest speaker at many private groups, clubs and corporate events on topics ranging from Leonard Bernstein to Lady Gaga. A regular lecturer at the Chautauqua Institute, Cosmopolitan Club, Young Presidents Organization, and Roundtable.org at the 92nd Street Y, among many others, he is currently on the faculty of The Juilliard School where he teaches the history, craft and business of songs and songwriting for Broadway, pop and Hollywood.
Edward joined the faculty of The Juilliard School in NYC in early 2022, teaching both online and in - person courses through the school’s popular Extension Division. Focusing on songs, songwriters, and singers, Edward’s courses have included explorations of the work of Stephen Sondheim, Gene Kelly, Fred Astaire, Kander & Ebb, Tina Turner, Quincy Jones, Berry Gordy, Frank Sinatra and Elvis Presley.
Edward is the founder of Songbook Station, an online teaching hub and popular YoutubeChannel. Edward’s offers live and video-taped group courses on songwriters such as Stephen Sondheim, Leonard Bernstein, and Irving Berlin, as well as private coaching to composers and lyricist on the craft of creating new songs. Edward’s original Youtube videos on the stories behind songs such as“Blowing’ in the Wind”, “Somewhere”, “Puttin’ on the Ritz”and“Blue Moon”have garnered over 200,000 views and thousands of subscribers.
